8. Installation

a) General installation notes
• The wireless device can be positioned freely (fixed installation or mobile), thanks to battery
operation.
• It can be operated indoors or outdoors, provided that the housing cover has been installed
properly with its rubber seal. Due to its incorporation in an IP65 installation housing it can
be operated in humid conditions, e.g. in bathrooms, showers, car wash sites etc., and in dirty
or dusty environments. However, do not install FS20 SN in water.
• Optical transmission control allows operation in a loud environment.
• Acoustic transmission control allows operation with hidden control.
• FS20 SN has two mounting holes. To access them the housing cover has to be taken off.
• Make sure you do not install FS20 SN on or near big metal objects, as this might significantly
reduce the radio range.

b) Installation/positioning of FS20 SN

The proximity switch can be placed freely. You can also mount it using the mounting holes in
the housing:
• Loosen the four cover screws and carefully remove the cover and the electronic unit from
the housing.
• Hold the housing against the desired position on the wall or another mounting place.
• Mark the drill hole positions through the two mounting holes.
• Make sure the installation place can take the load and that no power lines, gas pipes, water
or drain pipes run behind it.
• Drill 5-mm-holes about 35 mm deep. Put in two suitable plugs (not when mounting on wood!).
• Hold the housing over the drill holes and tighten it using suitable screws.
