6. Assembly/Installation

a) Installation Location / General Installation Instructions

• The area where the device is installed must be protected from dampness/water. The
operation of the product is only permitted in dry internal areas.
• There must be a 230V connection available at the installation site e.g. a junction box. The
cables to the drive and any installed control buttons should be rigid installation cables for set
location installation, these should be dimensioned appropriately to carry the connected
loading.
Please note:
The "FS20 RSU" is only suitable for operation with 230 V AC motors! No three-
phase motors and no direct current motors should be connected!
If there are motors parallel connected to the "FS20 RSU" then the motor
manufacturer's instructions must be observed. Otherwise it could damage the
motors.
In addition you may only use curtains or roller shutters with a end position switch
(mechanical or electronic)! The end position switch of the attached motor must
be checked for correct adjustment before the "FS20 RSU" is put into operation!
The control inputs are switched using mains power. Thus, only mains power
certified sensors and cables may be used!
The inputs may only have sensors attached to them, not switches!
Switches would lead to incorrect device functioning (programme mode)!

b) Carrying Out Assembly/Installation

• Deactivate the mains power circuit to which the device is to be connected and ensure that
it cannot be mistakenly reactivated.
• The device must be installed at a set location in an installation box or switch box in the wall.
• Insert cable ends, with approximately 10 mm of insulation removed into the corresponding
clamp block clamps.
Proceed in the following order: Sensor connections, motor connection then mains connection.
The connection is carried out as per the diagram on the following page.
