6. Commissioning
The commissioning procedures can be found in the Fitting and
Operating Instructions for the entire installation (DEA).
– Once all settings have been made the installation functions are to be
checked for plausibility.
6.1 Factory settings
The controller is preset by the manufacturer. The factory setting can be
restored with menu 3.28.
6.2 Setting the individual menu parameters
The parameter settings for the individual control modes are described
in table I, column 3.
6.3 Checking the direction of rotation of the motor
Check whether the direction of rotation of the pump in mains operation
corresponds with the arrow on the pump housing by briefly switching
on each pump in the "Manual" operating mode (menu 1.01). In the
case of the wet-runner pumps the incorrect or correct direction of
rotation is indicated by a control light on the terminal box (see Fitting
and Operating Instructions for pump).
– If all pumps show the incorrect direction of rotation in mains operation
reverse 2 random phases of the main power cable.
Installations without frequency convertor:
– If only one pump shows an incorrect direction of rotation in mains
operation 2 random phases are to be reversed in the motor terminal box
for motors where P
4 kW (direct starting).
2
– If only one pump shows an incorrect direction of rotation in mains
operation 4 connections are to be reversed in the motor terminal box
for motors where P
5.5 kW (star-delta starting). The winding lead
2
and winding end of 2 phases are to be reversed (e.g. V
W
for W
).

Installations with frequency convertor:
– Mains operation: set each pump individually to >mains< in menu
1.02 to 1.0X (depending on number of pumps). Then proceed as for
installations without frequency convertor.
– Frequency convertor operation: set each pump individually to >FC<
in menu 1.02 to 1.0X (depending on number of pumps). The direction
of rotation in frequency convertor operation is then to be checked by
briefly switchig each pump on. If all pumps show an incorrect
direction of rotation 2 random phases at the frequency convertor
output are to be reversed.
8. Faults, causes and rectification
8.1 Fault indication and acknowledgement
Interference signal
Passing of delay time
Cause of fault rectified
Call up menu 7.01, activate acknowledgement with O.K. key and delete fault indication with fault acknowledgement key
Red fault LED goes out
Basic display appears in display
Installation available again
Switching the installation off and on does not delete a fault.

6.4 Setting the motor protection
WSK / PTC: no setting is necessary with excessive temperature
protection.
ESA: For installations where P
be set to the rated motor current as per the rating plate in menu 5.01
(to 5.06) for each pump.
TSA: For installations where P
is protected by a thermocurrent tripping unit.
– Set this overcurrent tripping unit to the value 0.58 x rated motor
current.
Both the electronic and the thermocurrent tripping unit are active in
manual-mains operation and in mains operation activated by the
controller.
6.5 Sensor switches and additional boards
For sensor switches the Fitting and Operating Instructions are to be
followed. The optional boards are described in Chapter 4.1.1 of these
Fitting and Operating Instructions. If other-brand sensor switches
(bulk-current sensors) are used, their Fitting and Operating Instructions
are to be followed.
7. Maintenance
The control cubicle must be kept clean. Control cubicle and fan are to
be cleaned if dirty. The filter mats in the ventilator must be inspected,
cleaned and if necessary replaced.
From a motor power of 5.5 kW the contactors are to be checked
for V
and
1
2
occasionally for erosion and replaced if heavily eroded.
7.1 Service
The service menu "S" contains menu points which allow the engineer
to view the level of the digital and analog inputs. In addition, the
engineer can connect each pump to the convertor or to the mains.
The service menu also contains menu points which provide information
on the status of the installation or display the current value of timers. In
addition, the individual sub-menu points of menus 1, 2 and 3 can be
blocked or released for the operator. Blocking is acknowledged when
the menu is called up with the message "blocked". Menu 6 (FC) can
only be viewed by the operator.
Fault signal
Red fault LED flashes
Mains and convertor operation blocked
Fault indication in display, menu 7.01 (last interference in each case)
SSM display externally
By pressing the fault acknowledgement key the collective fault
signal (SSM) is acknowledged in any case.
Fault indication remains despite acknowledgement
4 kW the overcurrent release must
2
5.5 kW rated motor output the motor
2
Fault still present
Red fault LED lights up continuously
Fault indication remains in display
Installation unavailable
