Heating/air-conditioning installations
Trial run / down-time monitoring
Monitoring is advisable during extended pump rest periods. The trial run can be released in menu 2.21, although only in automatic operation.
The duration of the trial run and the rest period between 2 trial runs can be set in menus 2.22 and 2.23. During the trial run the

If the set rest period for a pump is exceeded, it is connected to the
mains for the duration of the set time whilst the base-load pump is in
operation. If several pumps are being operated a pump swap occurs
instead of a trial run.
Fault switching in single-pump installations
In automatic operation:
in the event of a fault in the controller (the frequency convertor) the pump switches to mains operation,
In the event of a fault in the pump the installation is shut down and is no longer available.
In direct mains operation: in the event of a fault in the motor the installation shuts down.
Fault switching in multi-pump installations
In automatic operation:
in the event of a fault in the controller (the frequency convertor) the base-load pump switches to mains operation,
In the event of a fault in the base-load pump this shuts down and the automatic action connects one of the
peak-load pumps to the frequency convertor.
In direct mains operation: in the event of a fault in the pump this shuts down and the installation continues to run with the other pumps.
Lack of water
The input is programmed as a break contact.
The signalling precompression monitor to be supplied by the manufacturer takes place via an input to the floating contact on the motherboard.
After a delay time of 12 s one pump is disconnected every 2 s until the installation is fully at rest. A lack of water within 12 s does not produce
externally recognisable reaction. Conversely, the installation is started up again with a delay time of 10 s once this lack of water has been
rectified.
A lack of water initiates an SSM and the fault LED flashes. After the fault has been rectified the fault signal is also stopped (self-acknowledging).
Frost protection
The input is programmed as a break contact.
If the second setpoint Wi2 set to "off" (menu 3.06), the installation
could be damaged by frost. If, however, a frost-protection thermostat
is connected at the WM input on the motherboard, disconnection
by the second setpoint if the frost-protection temperature of the
thermostat is fallen short of is prevented. The installation then continues
to run with setpoint 1.
External OFF
Peak- and base-load pumps shut down consecutively. Switching takes priority over other functions, except for main emergency operation.
Drives are also shut down in manual and service operation. In the basic setting there is also no trial run. However, the trial run can be activated
in menu 2.21 even with "External Off".
4.1.5 Time switch
The controller is fitted with an internal time switch. The controller
switches automatically between summer and winter time. Switching to
Summer time: last Sunday in March, 2:00 a.m.,
Winter time:
last Sunday in October, 2:00 a.m.
The switch has switch mechanisms for switching over the setpoint and
the pump swap.
Each of the two switching mechanisms can be set to one of the three
following program types:
1.: Weekly program, "Mo - Su", each day has the same program.
2.: Weekday/weekend program, "Mo - Fr,
program, program for Sa, program for Su.
3.: "MoTuWeThFrSaSu", each weekday is programmed individually.
Setpoint switch-over: For each day up to 8 switching windows can
be programmed. The on-time must always be less than the off-time.
The switching times can overlap. The setting range is between
[00:00] and [23:59]. The switching window is deactivated with the
setting "- - : - -".
Pressure-boosting installations
A trial run only takes place when the installation is at rest (after
zero-amount disconnection), and always at the convertor, if available,
otherwise at the mains.
Setpoint allocation:
Setpoint 1 valid: if no switching time is programmed for the day, if a
Setpoint 2 valid: as for setpoint 1.
Type of setpoint:

time between "on" and "off" is programmed.
Type a: setting range from 0.1 to Xm, night-time
reduction with peak-load connection and
disconnection,
Type b: setting range from Nmin to 100 %, night-
time reduction, fixed speed of BP, peak-load
pumps disconnected,
Type c: setting "off", peak-load pumps and base-
load pumps are disconnected. "Frost" switch
remains open. In case of frost the installation
is run with setpoint 1.
