4.3.2

Starting point

1. Hydraulic units completely filled (pre-filled at factory)
2. Potentiometer units electrically and mechanically connected.
3. Tracks are at same height.
4.3.3

Adjustment

The lift is still in the lowest position. Connect the adjusting rods of the potentiometers to the guide blocks: Three rings
must be visible above the connection point.
It is always possible to use MS and UP push buttons on the circuit board for lifting and MS and DWN for
lowering. Note that the lift will try to level without being stopped by the safety settings of the system.
Please note carefully that when using MS and DWN (lowering) all safety catches are released; it is better first to
lift for approx. 30 mm first with MS and UP.
Bleeding air from the cylinders:
Raise the lift to the highest position. The piston is now in the topside of the cylinder and can be reached from the top of
the column. Remove the bottom cover of the cylinder. Unscrew the air bleed valve with a long socket wrench of 10 mm
until air is escaping. Caution: do not unscrew the air bleed valve completely. Bleeding the air will cause the piston to
lower. Allow the socket wrench to lower with it and tighten the valve as soon as a constant flow of oil emerges. Replace
bottom cover.
Adjustment of maximum height limit:
Lower the lift to the floor. Check if the LED 804 "IN RANGE" is on.
Raise the lift to the highest position. the lift should stop before the mechanical stop is reached. The lift has to be stopped
on a pre-set potentiometer value. Assemble the maximum height limit with 4 potentiometer rods at the same distance
higher or lower. The system is also provided with a programmable maximum height adjustment. This can be activated to
prevent high trucks hitting the ceiling of the workshop or can be adjusted to the length of the mechanic. For
programmable features see §4.3.4.
The lift is now operational and further adjustment is normally not necessary. If normal operation is not possible (e.g. the
lift will not raise from its lowest position), then the potentiometer adjustments must be checked with the lift in the lowest
position. Make sure all guide blocks are in the lowest position (operate push button S1, S2, S3 and S4 to be certain). The
tolerance of the adjustment can be checked on the faultcode display. If one point is on, then the adjustment is accurate
within 10 mm, and if two points are on, then the adjustment is accurate within 5 mm. The lift should already be
operational with only one point activated.
Measure if required the potentiometer values as following:
Use a digital multimeter en adjust the range to 20 VDC. Measure the value of each potentiometer.
-
Potentiometer I on terminal 63 and 64
-
Potentiometer II on terminal 73 and 74
-
Potentiometer III on terminal 83 and 84
-
Potentiometer IV on terminal 93 and 94
Take potentiometer I as a reference and adjust the other three within 0.05 Volt accuracy, by lowering or lifting
the adjustment rods in the connecting point (this is best done with two mechanics). 2 mm adjustment of the rod is equal to
0.01 Volt.
