k) Checking the Motor Function

Attention!
Ensure that no loose parts, such as paper, film or other objects can be sucked into the rotor during this
motor test. Also make sure that the model is held securely during this test run and that no body parts are
within the rotation range or danger area of the rotor.
Turn on the transmitter first and push the control lever for the motor function to "motor off".
Connect the flight battery with the flight controller. The motor will emit a sound sequence with three sounds of differ-
ent height (♫ 1 2 3), followed by three short sounds of the same height ( - - - ) and last one more short signal ( - ).
The drive is now ready.
When the control lever is moved from the "motor off" position towards full throttle slowly, the motor will start up and
increase its revolutions depending on the control lever position.
Caution, important!
Do not let the motor run on max. power for more than 5 - 10 seconds when the model is held on the ground.
Both the flight controller and the motor may overheat by this!
If you can only hear the sound sequence with the three tones (♫ 1 2 3) when connecting the flight battery, and the
motor then continually makes short sounds in a quick sequence ( - - - - - - - ), the flight controller is not receiving the
receiver signal or does not recognise the current position of the control lever as the "motor off" position. In this case,
the transmitter function must be inspected or the control lever position must be corrected. You may need to save the
end points of the throttle lever path anew in the flight controller.
If the sound sequence with the three tones (♫ 1 2 3) sounds when connecting the flight battery, followed by two single
sounds after a short break ( - - ), the flight controller recognises the transmitter signal as "full throttle" position and
starts switching to programming mode. If the control lever for the motor function at the transmitter is in the "motor off"
position, the reverse function at the transmitter must be activated.
If the motor does not run two seconds after actuating the throttle (e.g. because of a mechanical block),
the temperature of the flight controller exceeds 110 °C or the flight controller does not recognise any valid
receiver signal, it will switch off the motor.
Depending on fault, the control lever for the motor function must be moved to the "motor off" position or, in an extreme
case, the rechargeable battery must be disconnected and reconnected before you can activate the drive again.
