d) Checking the Motor Function

Attention!
Ensure that no loose parts, such as paper, foil or other objects can be sucked into the propeller during this motor test. Also make sure that the model
is held securely during this test run and that no body parts are within the rotation range or danger area of the propeller.
First start the transmitter, then the model.
Slide the control lever for the engine speed and rudder (see fig. 2, Item 10) to the bottom position (engine off). For this, the trim slide for the engine function (see
fig. 2, Item 11) has to be in its centre position.
If the control stick for the aileron and engine functions is slowly pushed upwards, the propeller starts and slowly increases the rotation speed.
The maximum rotation speed is reached when the control stick is on the top end.
If the motor reacts opposite to the function described above, you may change the direction of the aileron servo with the reverse switch (see fig 2, item 12, "CH3"
switch).
Perform a brief motor test and check the run of the propeller.
e) Checking the Centre of Gravity
The centre of gravity of the model is preset for reasons of design and is located
approx. 65 mm behind the front edge of the upper wing (measured in the centre
of the surface).
If the model is lifted at the left and right of this position, it should be in balance
or the nose slightly dropped.
If necessary, the centre of gravity can be shifted by moving the flight battery or
by adding sinkers at the tip of the fuselage or at the tail tip.
If the centre of gravity is moved to the front, this does increase stability but also
decreases the gliding properties of the model.
If the centre of gravity is moved to the rear, this does improve the gliding
properties, but the model becomes very instable and reacts very strongly to
elevator control commands.
Important!
Only experienced pilots should modify the position of the centre
of gravity in order to selectively adapt the model airplane
performance to their expectations and steering habits.
