SAFETY RULES
The responsible persons, particularly operators and
service staff, must be instructed in the safety guidelines
for the normal and proper use of industrial trucks prior
to operating and working with or on the truck. The
employer must ensure that the operator has understood
all safety information.
Please observe the guidelines and safety rules therein,
for example:
-
information related to the operation of lift trucks,
-
rules for roadways and work areas,
-
rights, duties and rules of behaviour for the driver,
-
applications in special areas,
-
information on starting, driving and braking,
-
information on maintenance and repairs,
-
the routine checks, accident prevention check,
-
disposal of greases, oils and batteries,
-
residual risks.
The operator (employer) or responsible person must
ensure that the guidelines and safety rules applicable to
your truck are observed.
When familiarising a trained operator with the truck,
acquaint hirn with the
-
special features of the litt truck,
-
special operating characteristics
by practicing driving, shitting and steering until they are
completely mastered.
Only then start to practice shelf-stacking.
The stability of the truck in the work area is assured if
employed properly.
Safety information
The words WARNING, CAUTION, ATTENTION and NOTE
are used in this manual to indicate special hazards or for
unusual information requiring extra identification:
NOTE
WARNING
indicates that, if not heeded, personal injury
or death
and/or
substantial damage to the
product can occur.
CAUTION
indicates that, if not heeded, severe personal
injury andlor substantial damage to the prod-
uct can occur.
ATTENTION
indicates that, if not heeded, damage to the
product or its destruction can occur.
indicates technical details drawn attention to wh ich may
not even be obvious to skilled personnel.
BEGINNING OPERATION
Handling lubricants
Always handle lubricants as required and as specified by
the manufacturer.
Only store lubricants in approved containers in the
specified storage places. As they could be inflammable,
do not let them come in contact with hot objects or a
naked flame.
Only use clean containers when replenishing lubricants.
Follow the manufacturer's safety and disposal instruc-
tions when using lubricants and cleaning compounds.
Avoid spilling lubricants. Remove any spillage immedi-
ately with a suitable binding agent and dispose of as
specified.
Also dispose of drained or contaminated lubricants as
specified.
Observe local laws and regulations.
Clean the area surrounding the part in question before
lubrication, filter renewal or repairs in the hydraulic
system.
Oispose of replaced parts in a way friendly to the envi-
ronment.
ATTENTION
00 not allow hydraulic oil under pressure, at
a leak for example, to penetrate the skin.
Medical aid is required if such an injury oc-
curs.
