Chin Bar Vents (2): are used to convey humid air from inside the helmet to the outside of the helmet.
Top Vent (3): to open the vent, push backwards the Astars central slider. To close it, pull it forward. Ventilation entering
from this point will be channeled on the head for better airflow comfort.
See Figure 8, page 6.
Spoiler (7a or 7b): the helmet is fitted with a Spoiler (7a or 7b) for aerodynamic purposes and for hot air extraction. For
Spoiler (7a or 7b) details please read Paragraph 9.
4. HYDRATION SYSTEM
A hydration system can be installed on the left or on the right side of the helmet.
Insert the tube under the flexible flap located on the lower/rear side of Cheek Pads (11), until the tube exits from the
inner side of the Cheek Pads (11), then position it on the back of the Cheek Pads (11).

5. SHIELD
To remove the Shield (4), lift it to the highest position, then pull the lever on the Shield Mechanism (5) towards the
front, until the Shield tooth disengages. Repeat for the other side.
Before installing the Shield (4), check the orange lever located behind the Shield Mechanism is completely upwards.
If not, then push it upwards by using a small screwdriver, then pull the lever towards the front, and insert the Shield (4)
on the mechanism, taking care to insert the front pin of the Shield (4) inside the hole of the orange lever, then release
the lever. Repeat for the other side. Move the Shield (4) completely up and down two times using both hands to ensure
the engagement is effective. If not, the Shield (4) will pop out, and the procedure must be repeated again.
Before riding, always check that the Shield (4) is securely installed.

In the event of an accident or impact, the Shield (4) may shatter or disconnect
due to the impact or pressure arising from such accident. Do not use the helmet
if the Shield (4) is broken, damaged, or scratched in such a manner that impairs
your vision.
Replacement Shields are available. ONLY use genuine Alpinestars Shields,
please ask your Dealer for Alpinestars' spare parts.
The first time after purchasing the helmet, remove the Shield's protective film.
This Shield (4) is provided with interior pins for fixation of a Pinlock
on the inner side of the Shield (4), follow the instructions given by the Pinlock
This Shield (4) is also provided with pins for fixation of tear offs (they come with three pieces in the box): to prepare the
tear offs, peel off the protective film from both sides, then fix them to the outer surface of the Shield (4), through the
pins. Adjust the tension of the films, by rotating the pins.

Tear offs should only be used on private tracks.
Never grab your helmet by the Shield (4), as this could cause the Shield (4) to
detach and the helmet to fall on the ground, causing damage to the outer and
inner shells.
