7.3. CARRIER ATTACHMENT
(Figure J:4 - J:8)
J:4 Insert the carrier attachment in the slot on the carrier
and snap it into place (J:5).
J:6 Work mode: Press the headband wires inwards until you
hear a click on both sides. Make sure that the cups and
the headband wires do not press on the edge of the
carrier when in work mode as this could reduce the
noise attenuation of the earmuff.
J:7 Ventilation mode: To switch the unit from work mode to
ventilation mode, pull outward on the ear cups until you
hear a click. Avoid placing the cups against the carrier
(J:8) as this prevents ventilation.

configuration (see Tables F). Please contact your authorized
two-way radio dealer or 3M Technical Service for any questions
regarding the headset configuration, including:
• Radio frequencies/channels
• Voice guide language
• Menu configuration
• Power management settings
• Two-way radio transmission settings
8.4. ADJUSTING THE VOLUME LEVEL
Use the [+] and [–] buttons to adjust the volume. By default, the
[+] and [–] buttons will control the volume of the active sound
source, which could be any one of the following: Two-way radio,
Bluetooth communication, or ambient listening sound. When
receiving a two-way radio signal, the [+] and [–] buttons will
control the two-way radio volume. If connected to a Bluetooth
device, the [+] and [–] buttons will control the Bluetooth audio
playback. In all other cases, the [+] and [–] buttons will control the
ambient listening volume level. The respective volume levels can
also be adjusted in the menu.
8.5. COMMUNICATE FACE TO FACE (PUSH-TO-
LISTEN)
The ambient / environmental listening microphones can be
activated from off or low state with a double press on the On/Off/
Mode button.
The Push-To-Listen feature enables you to instantly listen to
your environment by muting the Bluetooth audio volume and
activating the level-dependent microphones.
Press any other button to deactivate Push-To-Listen.
8.6. TWO-WAY RADIO COMMUNICATION
(Figure L)
Select the appropriate two-way radio channel using the
menu. To transmit a two-way radio message, press and hold
the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button.
If VOX is activated, speak into the microphone to transmit.
Your dealer can set the time for maximum transmission time.
The default maximum transmission time is 3 minutes.
Double press on the PTT button to activate or deactivate
VOX.
To maintain noise cancelling performance, the speech
microphone should be positioned very close to your mouth
(less than 3 mm or 1/8 inch). See Figures L:1 and L:2.
8.7. COMMUNICATE VIA CONNECTED
EXTERNAL RADIO
(Figure P)
Your external communication radio must be connected via the
auxiliary port (P:10).
To transmit, use the PTT button on the radio or external PTT
adapter.
8.8. ANALOG TWO-WAY RADIO
(Table G and H)
Analog two-way radio technology has the possibility to set
different frequencies for receiving and transmitting to ensure
that the headset can communicate in a repeater system.
The headset supports FM modulation and sub channels,
both CTCSS (1–38) and DCS (39–121) tones. See Tables
G and H.
8.9. DMR TECHNOLOGY
DMR consists of three different communication modes:
all call, group call and private call. With all call you can
communicate with all DMR headsets on the same frequency
and color code. With group call you can communicate with
all headsets on the same frequency, correct color code and
correct group ID. With private call you can communicate with
all headsets on the same frequency, correct color code and
correct radio ID.
This headset supports the DMR standard (tier 1 and tier 2)
and enables all call and group call. The headset also supports
digital subtones called color codes (0–15).
Digital two-way radio has the possibility to set different
frequencies for receiving and transmitting. This makes it
possible to communicate with a repeater system.
8.10. BLUETOOTH
8.10.1. BLUETOOTH MULTIPOINT TECHNOLOGY
This headset supports Bluetooth Multipoint technology. Use
Bluetooth Multipoint technology to connect your headset to
two Bluetooth devices at the same time.
Depending on the type of Bluetooth devices connected and
their current activities, the headset controls the Bluetooth
devices in different ways. The headset prioritizes and
coordinates activities from the connected Bluetooth devices.
8.10.2. PAIRING A BLUETOOTH DEVICE

on the left cup to enter pairing mode when no device is
paired. A voice message will confirm "Bluetooth pairing on".
