The different sound pitches
of the voice registers
There are registers that serve only the Upper Manual and
registers that serve only the Lower Manual. To avoid
confusion we should therefore
keyboard separately. Before anything else, however, let
us make a general introductory statement
the pitches of the tone color registers.
All these registers are marked by a number: «16'», «8'»
or «4'».
The electronic organ having no pipes, these numbers re-
present a precise unit of measure derived from the tra-
ditional organ, which indicates in «feet» the pitch of the
voices expressed by the registers.
Let us see then the real value of these
the «8'» registers are set at the base frequency of the
organ;
e the «16'» registers produce sounds an octave lower
than the «8'» registers;
the «4'» registers produce sounds an octavq higher
than the «8'» registers.
Here is an exemple on the Upper Manual:
o Press down the Flute 8' and play the central
the Upper Manual;
e listen to the basic voice and then, still playing the
same key, press also the Flute 16': you will hear a
second sound exactly an octave lower;
now, down with the Flute 4' which will give you a
third sound an octave higher than the Flute 8'.
Change a key: you will hear three sounds at once, at
three different sound pitches. Similarly, you only have to
compose a simple chord of three notes and press the
three keys for them to produce together nine sounds!

centrale della tastiera;
• ascoltate alcuni istanti la voce-base
continuando a premere 10 stesso tasto
Flute 16': avrete cosi aggiunto una frequenza esatta-
mente piü bassa di un'ottava;
• con il DO centrale sempre abbassato, selezionate infi-
ne il Flute 4': ora avrete ottenuto
piü alto di un'ottava rispetto a quello da 8'...
Cambiate pure tasto: sentirete ogni volta tutte e tre le
ottave. Alla stessa maniera, vi basterå
tasti contemporaneamente, perché si producano
stesso tempo, addirittura nove suoni!
