8.0 SCELTA TIPOLOGIA OLIO

8.0 CORRECT OIL TYPES
Avail able oils are typ i cally grouped into three
ma jor classes:
1) Min eral oils
2) Poly-Al pha-Ole fin syn thetic oils
3) Polyglycol syn thetic oils
Oil is nor mally se lected in ac cor dance with
en vi ron men tal and op er at ing con di tions.
Min eral oil is the ap pro pri ate choice for
mod er ate load, non-con tin u ous duty
ap pli ca tions free from tem per a ture ex tremes.
In se vere ap pli ca tions, where gear units are to
op er ate un der heavy loads in con tin u ous duty
and high tem per a tures are ex pected, syn thetic
Poly-Al pha-Ole fin oils (PAO) are the pre ferred
choice.
Polyglycol oils (PG) should only be used in
ap pli ca tions in volv ing high slid ing fric tion, as is
the case with worm shafts. These par tic u lar oils
should be used with great care, as they are not
com pat i ble with other oils, but are to tally
mixable with wa ter. The oil mixed with wa ter
can not be told from uncontaminated oil, but will
de grade very rap idly.
In ad di tion to the oils men tioned above, there
are food-grade oils. These are spe cial oils
harm less to hu man health for use in the food
in dus try. Oils with sim i lar char ac ter is tics are
avail able from a num ber of man u fac tur ers.

8. SCHMIERUNG

8.0 WAHL DER ÖLSORTE
Die verfügbaren Öle gehören im Allgemeinen
drei großen Familien an:
1) Mineralöle
2) Polyalphaolefine-Synthetiköle
3) Polyglykol-Synthetiköle
Die angemessene Wahl ist im Allgemeinen an
die Einsatzbedingungen gebunden. Getriebe,
die keinen besonders schweren Belastungen
ausgesetzt werden und einem unregelmäßigen
Einsatzzyklus unterliegen, ohne starke
thermische Schwankungen, können problemlos
mit Mineralöl geschmiert werden.
Unter harten Einsatzbedingungen, d.h. wenn
die Getriebe stark und andauernd belastet
werden, was einen sicheren Temperaturanstieg
zur Folge hat, sollten Synthetiköle vom Typ
Polyalphaolefine (PAO), verwendet werden.
Die Öle, Typ Polyglykole (PG), sind unbedingt
dann einzusetzen, wenn es sich um
Applikationen handelt, bei denen es zu starken
Reibungen zwischen den in Kontakt stehenden
Elementen kommt, z.B. bei Schnecken. Bei
ihrem Einsatz ist besondere Aufmerksamkeit
erforderlich, da sie nicht mit anderen Ölen
kompatibel sind, sich jedoch vollständig mit
Wasser vermischen lassen. Diese Tatsache
erweist sich daher als besonders gefährlich, da
sie sich nicht feststellen lässt, jedoch die
Schmiereigenschaften des Öls bereits nach
kurzer Zeit unterdrückt.
Über die bereits genannten Öle hinaus, gibt es
auch Öle, die speziell für die
Lebensmittelindustrie ausgelegt sind.
Diese finden demzufolge in diesem Bereich ihren
Einsatz, da es sich dabei um spezielle Produkte
handelt, die für die Gesundheit unschädlich sind.
Die den jeweiligen Familien angehörigen Ölsorten
werden von verschiedenen Herstellern angeboten;
sie weisen jeweils sehr ähnliche Eigenschaften auf.

Vergleichstabelle.
