The Emergency stop is permanently mounted on the right side of the M2Smart
mounted on the left side.
23.5.2 Regular Check of the emergency stop
The emergency stop button must be checked regularly for tampering and damage.
Regular Technical Inspection:
The inspection interval is to be determined by the machine designer on the basis of the risk assessment.
However, it is recommended that the emergency stop button be triggered at least once a year by the
responsible safety officer for test purposes and to check that it is functioning properly:
Mechanical and electrical function test
Secure mounting
No tampering or damage detectable
To prevent active/inactive emergency stop buttons from being confused, inactive emergency stop buttons
must be made unrecognizable by locking them away or covering them.
