19.3.2.2 Safety Network Notices
ACD offers products and solutions with industrial safety functions that support the safe operation of plants,
systems, machines and networks.
To secure plants, systems, machines and networks against cyber threats, it is necessary to implement (and
continuously maintain) an end-to-end industrial security concept that reflects the current state of the art.
ACD's products and solutions support one element of such a concept.
Customers are responsible for preventing unauthorized persons from accessing their equipment, systems,
machines and networks. These systems, machines and components should only be connected to the
corporate network or the Internet if and when necessary and only if appropriate protective measures (e.g.,
firewalls and/or network segmentation) have been taken.
ACD's products and solutions are constantly evolving to make them even more secure. ACD strongly
recommends applying product updates as soon as they are available and always using only the latest
product versions. Using outdated or unsupported versions can increase the risk of cyber threats.
19.3.2.3 General Safety Instructions
®
To operate the M2Smart
HMI10 Wired, only ACD original power supply units and ACD
approved rechargeable batteries may be used! The use of unauthorized components can lead to
®
destruction of the M2Smart
HMI10 Wired or the mounting bracket. If a battery is used that is not approved
by ACD, there is a risk of explosion. Do not use the ACD-approved
components with a third-party device.
®
To avoid overheating, the M2Smart
HMI10 Wired must not be covered during operation.
®
If the M2Smart
HMI10 Wired will not be used for a longer period of time, remove the rechargeable battery.
If the battery is stored for more than six months, its quality may be permanently impaired. To minimize this,
it is recommended that the battery is always stored half charged, in a cool and dry place and away from the
devices. This can reduce the risk of a reduction in charging capacity and electrolyte leakage.
If the battery is stored for > 1 year, the charge status should be checked at least once a year, and the
battery should be recharged to half full if necessary.
®
The battery of the M2Smart
HMI10 Wired is mostly a lithium ion battery pack. Lithium-ion rechargeable
batteries can explode if they are subjected to fire or heat. The battery pack must not be disassembled or
®
exposed to fire or heat (above 60 °C/140 °F). Always observe all warnings of the M2Smart
HMI10 Wired
you are using.
