6-1. Outline
This LSI is designated to process the digital signal of R-DAT and
used in combination with SYS IC102 (LR3822A). Its major
functions are C1.C2 parity generation in recording mode, data
error detection and correction according to C1.C2 parity in
playback mode, demodulation of playback signal, encoding of
digital I/O signal and decoding.
Features
* Microprogramming type ECC which executes 8-bit Galois
group processing
* Generation of C1 = 4-parity, C2 = 6-parity, subcode = 4-parity
in record mode
¢ Double correction with C1 (including subcode), double correc-
tion with C2 in playback mode, quintuple erase correction
¢ Digital interface built in (adaptable to IEC format and SCMS
system)
¢ 8-bit bus microcomputer interface compatible with SYS
¢ Level meter peak hold circuit built in, output to microcomputer
bus
¢ Block error rate counter built in, output to microcomputer bus
* CMOS, 5 V UM-1 power supply, 96-pin flat package
