From the Start menu, select [Programs] — [Panasonic DVD-RAM] > [MPEG1 Coder] > [MPEG1

E The control panel
For an explanation of the controls, move the mouse cursor over a button.
An explanation of the button's function is displayed.
E Recording

Click on the [FILE] button and specify a file.
è In the over write mode, the data in the file you specify is written over.
e in the addition mode, a number is automatically added to the end of the file name when you
start recording.
Click on the [CAPTURE] button and set the recording conditions.

Click on the [REC] button.
Recording starts.

Click on the [STOP] button.

Click on the [FILE] button and specify the file you want to play.

Click on the [PLAY] button.
Play starts.
Caution:
e Before data that you have recorded with MPEG1 Coder is used in a manner that exceeds the
scope of personal use, you must first obtain the permission of the copyright holder in accor-
dance with copyright law.
Note:
e Select Active Movie before using MPEG1 Coder. To start the Active Movie selection program,
from the Start menu select [Programs] — [Panasonic DVD-RAM] — [MPEG1 Coder] — [Active
Movie Select Switch].
e You can also play AVI files.
e A sample MPEG
file is stored in the "Sample" folder in the root directory of the supplied CD-
ROM disc. This sample data can be used with MPEG1 Coder.
e Refer to the help files for operating and troubleshooting procedures. The help files can be opened
either by clicking [Help] on the application, or by selecting [Programs] > [Panasonic DVD-RAM]
— [MPEG1 Coder] — [Help for MPEG?
Coder] from the Start menu.
