e About the DOS driver
The DOS driver is supplied on the CD-ROM installation disc.
You can use the DVD-RAM drive under MS-DOS® by installing this driver in your computer.
Please refer to [e:\DosDrv\English\readme.txt] of the CD-ROM.
(This assumes that the drive letter assigned to the DVD-RAM drive for CD-ROM media is E:.)
The DOS driver is intended mainly for system installation from the DVD-RAM drive. The disc must
be FAT 16 formatted. UDF and FAT 32 formats cannot be used.
Checks after installation
Follow the steps described below (to page 42) to check that the DVD-RAM drive is recognized prop-
erly.
If a problem occurs, refer to "Troubleshooting" on page 88.
E Checking with [My Computer]
If this DVD-RAM drive was correctly connected and the driver programs were properly installed, icons
for DVD-RAM disc and CD-ROM/DVD-ROM will be added in [My Computer].
In the example below, removable disks (DVD-RAM disc) have been assigned the drive name D:, and
CD-ROMs (CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive) have been assigned the drive name E:.
e If the correct icons do not appear, select [Refresh] from the View pull-down menu.
If the correct icons fail to appear even after selecting [Refresh], check by following the procedure
"Checking use [Device Manager]" on page 42, then refer to "Troubleshooting" on page 88.
