Connections
Before connecting the DVD-RAM drive
e Be sure to read the operating instructions and operating precautions for the computer into which this
DVD-RAM drive will be installed.
e Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the power socket.
(Never connect the DVD-RAM drive while the power is on.)
e Do not place the DVD-RAM drive where it will be susceptible to vibration or impact or where the
surface is tilted.
e Mounting screw holes are located in eight places on the right and left panels of the DVD-RAM drive,
and in four places on the bottom panel. When securing the DVD-RAM drive into a computer or other
device, secure the DVD-RAM drive firmly in place with four mounting screws (included) in four
places on the right and left panels or in four places on the bottom panel.
e Insert the connection cables firmly.
e Be sure to observe all operating environment restrictions as noted in "Specifications" on pages 96
and 99.

Note:
e Only use the screws included in the DVD-RAM drive package. (Using screws with a different
length or diameter may damage the DVD-RAM drive.)
