  Never use oils intended for two-stroke engines in
the generator!
WARNING
  When adding or replacing oil, do not mix motor
oils of various SAE classes or oils of the same SAE
class from various manufacturers.
y Check the oil level on the gauge (dipstick) after screwing
it out of the oil tank.
  Only check the oil level in the oil tank when the gene-
rator is standing on a horizontal level and only after an
extended period of time after the engine is turned off
(at least 15 minutes). If you perform the oil check too
soon after turning off the generator, not all the oil will
have flowed down the walls of the crankcase and the
oil level reading will not be reliable.
4. Check the condition air filter.
  Check the condition of the air filter and whether it is
clogged before putting the generator into operati-
on. A clogged air filter or operation of the generator
without the air filter will result in damage to the carbu-
rettor and the engine. A clogged air filter prevents the
supply of a sufficient amount of combustion air to the
engine and leads to the carbonisation of the engine,
spark plug and exhaust pipe.
Tilt open the air filter cover clips and take out the filter (fig.9).
Clean the filter after every 50 motor hours of opera-
tion (see motor hours counter, fig. 2, position 1) or in
the case of operation in a dusty environment after
every 10 motor hours or more frequently. Clean the
filter according to the procedure described in chapter
Cleaning and servicing. Prior re-inserting the filter, the
filter must be perfectly dry. In the event of damage or
substantial clogging, replace with a new original one
(part no.: 8896111A).
To insert the filter proceed in reverse sequence. For ef-
fective air filtration, seat the filter properly into the filter
compartment and put on the cover and secure it firmly in
place. Attention!, the cover needs to be seated pointing in
the correct direction, otherwise it will not be possible to
attach it using the clips.
5. Through the strainer in the petrol tank filling
neck (fig. 15), pour clean lead-free car petrol
without oil.
  Always pour the fuel into the fuel tank through the
strainer (fig. 15) that is inserted in the inlet of the fuel
tank since this will eliminate any mechanical particles
contained in the petrol, which could clog the fuel sys-
tem or carburettor.
y Petrol is highly flammable and very volatile. Petrol or its
fumes may very easily ignite, and
therefore do not smoke when
handling petrol and prevent access
to any flame or spark sources. Do
99
not pour petrol into the fuel tank while the engine is
running and turn off the engine of the generator and
allow it to cool down before adding petrol!
y Petrol is damaging to health. Therefore, prevent petrol from
coming into contact with skin, breathing in its vapours and
ingesting it. When handling petrol, use protective aids, i.e.
waterproof gloves as well as safety glasses.
Petrol is absorbed through the skin into the
body. Only add petrol in well-ventilated envi-
ronments to prevent inhalation of fumes.
ATTENTION
y Norm ČSN 65 6500 stipulates that unless fuel is sto-
red in an enclosed air-tight, light-proof container at
a temperature of 10-20°C, the recommended period
for which the petrol is usable is 3 months.
Petrol deteriorates, meaning that the most volatile
(flammable) components evaporate from the petrol and,
likewise, when ambient temperatures fluctuate petrol
may be contaminated by condensating air moisture,
which based on the age of the petrol may result in pro-
blems with starting the engine, reduced power, increase
carbonisation of the spark plug, exhaust pipe, etc.
We recommend adding a petrol conditioner to
the petrol (petrol dewatering fluid). It helps
a great deal in the event of problems with
starting, improves the characteristics of the pet-
rol, extends the lifespan of the engine and reduces carbo-
nisation of the exhaust pipe. Petrol conditioner can be
purchased at fuel stations. Based on our experience, a pro-
ven conditioner is from the Wynn's brand under the name
DRY FUEL from the Belgian manufacturer. When using the
conditioner, follow the instructions for its use that are pro-
vided on the packaging of the product. Based on our ex-
perience, it is sufficient to add a smaller amount of conditi-
oner to the petrol than specified by the manufacturer,
however it also depends on the quality and age of the pet-
rol, since the petrol may be deteriorated already when sold
at the fuel station. Prior to using the petrol, allow the con-
ditioner to act in the petrol for 15-30 minutes. In the event
that the conditioner is added directly into the fuel tank of
the generator, it is necessary to stir the blend by appropri-
ately moving the generator, to enable the conditioner to
act on the entire volume of petrol and to wait 15-30 minu-
tes before starting the engine.
  Monitor the amount of petrol in the fuel tank using the
fuel level gauge.
  Never pour petrol into the generator while it is running
and allow the generator to cool down before pouring it in.
GAS SUPPLY TO THE GENERATOR
y The source of gaseous propane-
-butane is standard propane-
-butane pressure vessels used
for powering, for example, gas
stoves with a standard reduction valve designed for
this type of pressure vessel, e.g. HERON® 8898300 – see
chapter Starting the generator in the front part of the
user's manual. The source of natural gas is the gas mains
distribution system.
