performed by an inspection technician qualified for
electrical, who is certified to perform these tasks, i.e.
a knowledgeable person.
In the event that the power generator is used by legal
entities then it is necessary for the operator, in the sense
of labour employment legal regulations and on the
basis of actual operating conditions and potential risks,
to draw up a plan for preventative maintenance of the
generator as a whole. Mandatory audits of the electrical
and gas parts must be performed even on paid rental
(hired) generators. After being out of operation for lon-
ger than 12 months, an audit of the generator must be
performed before the machine is put back into operati-
on (see paragraph 8.3 TPG 811 01). Costs associated with
the audits are borne by the operator/user.
In the event that the generator is used for personal
tasks, it is in your interest to have the electrical parts
of the generator inspected by an electrical inspector
according to the schedule specified in table 2.
X
Visually inspect connection points and hoses for leaks.

MAINTENANCE OF THE CYLINDER
COOLING FINS
AND ALTERNATOR VENTS
y Regularly check the engine cooling fins and the vents of
the alternator for clogging (fig. 8). In the event of heavy clo-
gging or if covered, overheating may occur, and the engine,
alternator may be seriously damaged or a fire may result.
CLEANING/REPLACING
THE AIR FILTER
  A clogged air filter prevents air from flowing to the
carburettor and blocks supply of combustion air. In the
interest of preventing subsequent damage, clean out
the air filter in accordance with the prescribed mainte-
nance plan (table 2). When operating the generator in
a dusty environment, clean the filter even more often.
The generator must not be operated without an
air filter or without an original air filter from the
manufacturer, which has the necessary porosity
and filtration effectiveness that is necessary for
the proper operation of the engine.
WARNING
y Never use petrol or other highly flammable substances
to clean the air filter. There is a risk of a fire resulting
from possible electro-static discharge from dust.
1. Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter
(see fig. 9).
ATTENTION
y In the event of significant soiling or damage of
the air filter, replace it with a new original filter-
the part number of the air filter for the specific
generator model is provided at the end of table 1.
EN
2. Hand wash the filter in a warm detergent solution
in an appropriate container (not in the washing
machine) and allow it to dry thoroughly (fig. 10).
Do not use organic solvents, e.g. acetone. Handle
the filter gently so as not to damage it.
3. Allow the filter to dry thoroughly at room temperature.
4. Allow the perfectly dry filter to soak up motor oil
and squeeze out any excess, however do not wring
it as this could tear it (fig. 10). The oil needs to be
thoroughly squeezed out of the filter, otherwise it
would prevent air from flowing through the filter.
A greasy air filter increases the filtration effect.
5. Put the filter back in place and correctly put cover
back on.
CHANGING THE OIL (FIG. 11)
y Drain oil from a warm engine, since warm oil has a lower
viscosity (flows better) and also a short time after the
engine is turned off, to ensure that the oil flows off the
walls of the crankcase.
The oil draining bolt (fig. 4, position 2) is intended for
draining the oil.
1. Screw out the cap off the oil tank (fig. 4, position 1)
to provide an air supply) and the oil draining bolt
from the oil tank (fig. 4, position 2) and then allow
the oil to drain out into the prepared container (fig.
11). Then, lightly tilt the generator to ensure that
all the oil flows out.
2. After draining all the oil, close the drain opening
and tighten the bolt firmly.
3. Fill the oil tank with new oil according to the
instructions provided above in the user's manual.
4. Screw the oil tank cap back on.
ATTENTION
y Wipe dry any spilled oil. Use protective gloves to pre-
vent your skin coming into contact with oil. In the event
that oil does comes into contact with skin, thoroughly
wash the affected area with soap and water. Do not
throw out unusable oil together with municipal waste,
and do not pour it down the drain or on soil, rather take
it to a household waste collection facility. Transport
used oil in closed containers secured against impact
during transport.
INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE/
REPLACEMENT OF THE SPARK PLUG
y For the problem-free starting and operation of the engi-
ne, the electrodes of the spark plug must not be clo-
gged, the spark plug must be correctly set and installed.
