STARTING THE GENERATOR USING PETROL
1. Open the petrol inlet from the petrol tank by set-
ting the petrol valve to position "1".
2. Set the choke lever to the
"START" position (or "CLOSE"
– if so designated).
3. Move the power switch to the "I" position.
4. Slightly pull out the handle of the pull starter and
repeatedly pull on handle of the pull starter until
the generator starts up. Then, whilst still holding the
handle in your hand, allow it to return back; do not
release it when it is pulled out. The effect of the sud-
den return of the handle could damage the starter.
5. After starting up the engine, set the choke lever to
the "RUN" position, otherwise the engine will be
choked.
SWITCHING THE GENERATOR TO GAS OPERATION
y When using gas as the fuel,
allow the engine to run for
approx. 1 minute using petrol
as a fuel in order to heat it up
and then proceed as follows:
1. When using propane-butane (LPG), push down the
"brass" toggle switch on the mixer (see figure); when using
natural gas (NG) pull the toggle
switch up. The position of the
toggle switch with respect to the
type of gas used, i.e. LPG or NG, is
shown on the pictogram that is
located next to the toggle switch.
2. Shut off the petrol fuel supply by setting the petrol
valve to position"0" and wait until the sound of the
engine starts to be irregular due to an insufficient sup-
ply of petrol.
3. Then completely open the gas
outlet valve on the pressure
vessel to provide a sufficient
supply of gas and then gradu-
ally open the gas supply to the
generator by turning the lever
to the "ON" position. When
transitioning from petrol to gas, it is important not
to rush and to open the gas supply to the genera-
tor gradually based on the engine noise (it may
take 1-2 minutes). Transition from petrol to gas
may manifest itself through temporarily higher
vibrations of the engine and higher emissions of
exhaust fumes.
TURNING OFF THE GENERATOR
1. Set the power switch on the generator to the "O" or
"OFF" position.
97
2a. If gas was used as fuel, close the gas valve by setting
the lever of the valve to the "OFF" position.
2b. When petrol is used as the fuel source, then set the
petrol valve to the "0" position - if the petrol valve is
not closed, then during handling of the generator,
liquid petrol could enter into the cylinder, which would
require a service centre to clean it out without entitle-
ment to a warranty repair.
3. Close the gas inlet on the pressure vessel.
4. After disconnecting the gas hose from the generator,
put a plastic cap on to the nozzle (fig. 2, position 1) to
protect it against the ingression of dirt or water.
INFORMATION
ABOUT USING THE GENERATOR
y In the event that the generator is used as a backup
electrical energy source for powering TN-C-S (TN-C)
networks (i.e. fixed electrical grids in apartments,
houses, etc.), the connection of the generator must
be performed only by an electrician with the neces-
sary qualifications, since it must be put into balance
with the IT network of the generator with the TN-C-S
(TN-C) grid. The generator may be connected to
a TN-C-S (TN-C) grid only via an overvoltage protec-
tion that is built into the TN-C-S (TN-C) grid.
y In the event that the generator is installed as a bac-
kup power source, it should be put into test operation
(started-up) 1-2× per month to verify that it is ready for
backup use.
