When operating the air-conditioning system, the windows and the doors of the vehicle should be closed.

When cleaning the system, protect the electric components.
To optimize the operation of the air-conditioner, upkeep the system routinely.
If the air-conditioner is used in very dusty environments, upkeep the system more frequently.
Avoid not using the air-conditioner for very long periods, operate it at least once a month for half and hour even during winter. This, should
lubricate some components and prevent them from drying during long periods of inactivity.
Periodically check the condenser coil and, if necessary, clean them with a jet of compressed air being careful not to damage the aluminium
fins.
When working near the heat exchangers of the condenser and the evaporator, be careful not to cut yourself on the sharp edges of the fins.
Insects, tree droppings and other foreign matters can accumulate on the fins. In time, these negatively affect the efficiency of the heat
exchanger.
At the same time, inspect the working of the electric fan.
When the AC is switched ON, the condenser fan begins simultaneously to the insertion of the compressor . Consider that the cleaning of the
condenser and the inspection of the right ventilation are very important operations. As a matter of fact, a very dirty or non-ventilated
condenser, reduces the conditioning system performances and shorters the compressor duration, up to the break of the compressor or of its
electromagnetic joint.
The air-conditioning system operates using R134a coolant.
INDICATIVE QUANTITY OF REFRIGERANT: 1,4 Kg. of R134a for a unit having suction and discharge hoses, which connect the
compressor to the roof top unit, in a length of 7 mt each (add abt. 50 cc of oil matchable with lubricant present in the compressor).
Since the beginning of every season, we recommend to check the coolant quantity of the system. Usually, a lack of coolant reduces the
performances. The check can be carried out by observing the coolant window located on the receiver drier: first, it is necessary to select the
highest ventilation speed, then keep the engine at 1.500 rpm. After 5 minutes, if there is a persistent white foam on the slide, restore the
charge. However, the slide could be clear although the coolant was lacking. In such conditions, the conditioner performances would be
limites or null. In case of severe coolant lack, before recharging find out the leak point and repair it. We recommend also to check the oil
level within the compressor. Fill up, if necessary.
At the beginning of each season, inspect all the components of the system, including the electric components to make sure that no
problems have arisen.
If any electric components need replacing, you can access them easily by removing the outside cover of the unit
After 1.500 Km, from the conditioner installation, carry out a general inspection, particularly check that the screws and bolts fastening the
compressor, and its brackets, are tightened.
Twice a year, check the tension fo the compressor trailing belt; if it is worn out, replace it by one of the same type.
In the event of considerable rapairs, we recommend to replace the receiver drier. This operation is essential if the system stays open a
long time, or in case of inside moisture.
Any repairs or interventions for filling or recovering refrigerant, must be carried out at Autoclima authorized garages and by
qualified personnel.
