MAKE SURE THE UNIT IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE STARTING ANY MAINTENANCE OR
This section is intended for the end user and contains information that is extremely important to ensure the unit has a long,
trouble free service life.
Scrupulously carrying out the few simple operations described below at regular intervals can avoid the need for servicing by
specialist personnel.
The operations which need to be carried out do not require any special technical knowledge, involving the following simple
checks on the components of the unit:
- condenser coil
- electrical fans
- structure

UNIT

CONDENSER COIL
IMPORTANT: The condenser coils must be able to provide the maximum heat exchange. It is therefore important for their
surfaces to be free of dirt and dust that may be deposited due to the effect of the electrical fans.
- Use a brush to remove any impurities, such as paper, leaves, etc. that may have deposited on the surface of the coil.
- Use a jet of pressurised air to clean the aluminium surface of the coil, making sure to point the jet parallel to the direction of
the fins, so as not to damage them.
- Check that the aluminium fins are not damaged or bent. If there is any damage of this kind, "comb" them using the special
tool for this purpose to return them to their initial positions, ensuring the coil operates with optimal air flow.
FANS
Before every seasonal start-up check the condition of the fans.
- Check the fastening of the fans to the support grill.
- Check the fastening of the fan support grill to the structure of the unit.
- Check, where possible, for any unbalancing of the fans, highlighted by abnormal noises and vibrations.
STRUCTURE
- Check the condition of the parts forming the structure, paying special attention to its steel components.
- Treat any rusted points of the unit with paints designed to eliminate or reduce this problem.
- Make sure that the unit's casing panels are mounted firmly in place. Poor mounting can cause abnormal vibrations and
noise.
CONTROL OF THE DRAINAGE OF THE DEFROST WATER
During the heating operation, the defrost cycle is carried out relatively frequently.
This is obtained by reversing the refrigerent cycle. During this phase check that the drainage of the water from the coil fins
has a regular downflow to below the base of the unit.
If there is not sufficient downflow particularly low temperatures could cause the formation of a layer of ice above the base.
This would hinder the correct operation of the whole system.

ELECTRICAL PARTS

Check that the power cable connecting the unit to the electrical panel is not cut, cracked or damaged in any way that may
affect its insulation. Contact an authorised service centre should maintenance be required.
AUTHORISED PERSONNEL SHOULD BE CALLED OUT EVERY TIME THE UNIT IS STARTED UP
AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, SO THAT THEY CAN NOT ONLY CARRY OUT THE ABOVE INSPECTIONS
BUT ALSO CARRY OUT A THOROUGH CHECK ON THE REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT.
