Advanced setting of AutoTrim valve (fig. 14-17)

AutoTrim general
The AutoTrim valve gives a reduced speed during rundown. After 1-2
pulses on a joint it shifts automatically to full speed/power for the rest
of the tightening.
Note
In most cases the factory settings give best performance.
Only experienced users should adjust the AutoTrim valve.
Possible adjustments:
Free speed (factory set to approx 70% of full speed). Switch point
from reduced to full power (factory set to 1-2 pulses) for standard,
non reporting (RE) applications. Power during pulsing (factory set to
full power).

Adjustment of free speed
Further speed reduction could be needed on very hard joints (<30°) at
low torque levels. Less or no speed reduction could be used when
tool is used only on soft joints.
The factory setting 'L' is depending on size of tool:
Increase 'L' for increased free speed
Reduce 'L' for reduced free speed
Factory setting of 'L' (±0.1) mm = 39.2 mm on 5/6 PTS

Adjustment of switch point
Target Tool should switch from reduced to full power after 1-2 pulses.
The AT-valve is factory set for proper operation for use
between 4-7 bar.
Clockwise (+) rotation delays the switch point (closes the needle
valve) and vice versa.
From fully closed (+) position, normal operation is with the needle
valve between 6 and 8 turns open (–) depending on tool size.
Note
The plug must be in place, otherwise AT-valve will not switch.
If the tool is used for reporting applications (RE) the needle valve has
to be turned more open (–) to compensate for the air volume in the
signal hose.

Adjustment of pulsing power
The AT-valve is factory set to full power. Pulsing power can be
reduced on low or medium torque levels on hard or medium hard
joints to improve accuracy (more pulses before shut of).
