Fig. 20 To fill the pulse unit with oil
Operation No. 1 – 12 (after disassembly of pulse unit)
Due to a possible microleagage of oil from the pulse unit, it could
be necessary for refill the unit between the regular overhaul
intervals.
The frequency of this procedure depends on the type of appli ca-
tion, number of cycles, tightening time etc. An indication of too little
oil is a decreased tightening torque and an increased pulse
frequency.
After disassembly of pulse unit and cleaning of parts fill with oil
according to operation No. 1– 5 below. Run the machine in a vice
for 10 seconds accord- ing to operation No. 6. Then continue
according to operation No. 7 – 12.
Oil : 22 cSt / 40 o C (ISO VG22)

To refill the pulse unit: Operation No. 7 – 12
Keep the pulse unit at normal room temperature.
Note Before the refill : Let the bubbles in the oil fade away.
Check that there are no bubbles in the oil and that the pulse unit is
completely full (100 %) before reducing the oil volume according
to operation No. 11.

For best performance use Atlas Copco Hydraulic Oil for ErgoPulse:
The Oil Filling Kit is composed of Atlas Copco Hydraulic Oil for
ErgoPulse (50ml) and a syringe (1 ml). Ordering No. : 4081 0121 90
Also any other hydraulic oil, 22 cST / 40 °C (ISO VG22), can be used.
