2. Select the desired program and adjust the values (see: 'Selecting or Setting Up
a Program').
3. Hold the AUTO START button pressed until the internal clock and starting time of
the auto start function are shown on the display.
IMPORTANT - The internal clock is shown on the left side of the display, the star-
ting time is displayed on the right side. These values are given in the pre-selected
time format (see: 'Preferences'). When using the 12 hours format, pay attention to
the icons "AM" (morning) or "PM" (afternoon).
4. By pressing the AUTO START button shortly, switch to the parameters: hours and
minutes of the internal clock and starting time. The active parameter flashes. Use
the selection buttons + and – for setting up the appropriate values.
NOTE
When no buttons are pressed for approx. 5 seconds, the display switches back to
the temperature and steeping time of the currently selected program.
5. After selecting the values, shortly press the AUTO START button again for confir-
ming your choice. The AUTO START button illuminates and the WATER button
and TEA button start flashing.
WARNING
– Ensure that the appliance is prepared for operation com-
pletely and correctly! Ensure that the kettle is filled with a sufficient amount of
water (at least 0.5 litres).
6. Press the desired start/stop button (WATER or TEA) for starting the process. The
AUTO START button and the selected start/stop button are illuminated continuo-
usly and the appliance will start operation, as soon as the selected starting time
is reached.
IMPORTANT - The auto start function starts the program that has been selected in
step 2. If you wish to use another program, deactivate the auto start function and
select the desired program first. Thereafter activate the auto start function again.
7. If you wish to de-activate the auto start function, when the selected starting time
has not been reached (the AUTO START button is still illuminated), simply press
the AUTO START button shortly. Make your entries. Thereafter, if you wish to
re-activate the auto start function again, press the AUTO START button again
shortly. If you wish to change the settings of the starting time or internal clock,
hold the AUTO START button pressed until the time values are shown. When the
selected starting time is reached, a signal sounds and the AUTO START button
gets dark. The appliance starts heating.

8. After the auto start function started the program, you can cancel the program via
the illuminated start/stop button. Otherwise, the program keeps running quite as
usual using the set values (see: 'Properties of Your New Tea Maker / Display
and Acoustic Signals—the Course of a Program').

CANCELLING OPERATION

You may cancel any running program at any time by pressing the start/stop button
(WATER or TEA) you used for starting the program. This button is illuminated, while
the program (including the keep warm function) is running. During heating, the pro-
gram is cancelled, when removing the kettle from the power base.
NOTE
When the keep warm function is running, removing the kettle will NOT cancel the
function. The keep warm time keeps running quite as usual.
The program can only be cancelled completely and the appliance returns to stand-
by mode. There is no way to continue the program. Nevertheless, you can start the
appliance again at once, using any program. However, the temperature must be at
least 5°C above the actual temperature within the kettle. Otherwise, an error mes-
sage ("E1") is given.
NOTE
When a tea program or user-defined program is cancelled during steeping, the
cantilever moves to the topmost position at once.
