The Solution
Remove the kettle from the power base and leave the
kettle cool down (at least 30 minutes). Then fill an
appropriate amount of clear water into the kettle and
place the kettle onto the power base. Try again.
For operation, always ensure that a sufficient amount of
water is within the kettle (1cm or 1/2 inch above the
tip of the temperature probe; at least 250ml).

Before starting a program via the TEA button, always ensu-
re that there are no foreign objects in the path of the can-
tilever. Do not hold your hands and arms under the cantile-
ver. Exclusively use the dedicated filter system for operating
the appliance via automatic extraction (see: 'Properties of
Your New Tea Maker / Automatic Extraction').

CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING
– Always ensure that all parts of the appliance are out of reach
of young children. Always switch OFF (the start/stop buttons TEA and WATER are
dark), unplug, and leave the appliance cool down, before cleaning the appliance.
To avoid risk of fire, and electric shock: Do not spill or pour any liquids on or in
the power base or power cord. Do not place or immerse the power base, kettle
or power cord in any liquids. Do not pour any liquids on the exterior of the
kettle. Especially, always keep the power socket at the power base and the power
connector in the bottom of the kettle completely dry and clean. Do not poke in the
power connectors of the power base and kettle or in the pillar, to avoid damage.
Do not attempt to disassemble the Infuser cover.
Glass can easily break, splinter, or crack. Always use special care, while handling the
kettle. Do not expose the kettle to extreme temperature variations and mechanical strain.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids (e.g. bleach, solving
agents, insufficient descaling agents) for cleaning the appliance or any part of it,
to avoid damage to the surfaces and seals. Do not use any hard or sharp-edged
objects for cleaning (e.g. metal scoring pads, knives, scrapers). Do not use violence.
DO NOT clean the power base or kettle or any other part of the appliance in an
automatic dishwasher!
Depending on the water hardness and the usage, the interior of the kettle gets coa-
ted with grey or sand-coloured scale or brown stains of tea. Remove these stains
and descale the kettle in time (see: 'Descaling the Kettle'). However, do not use
any descaling agents not recommended in this booklet, to avoid damage to the
heating plate, temperature sensor, and seals of the kettle.

Before installing the filter system, ensure that the pusher
of the filter system can be moved easily up and down.
The rod may not be blocked by any type of deposits. If
required, remove the obstacle. However, a slight resi-
stance may be tangible, when releasing the infuser cover
from the magnet holder. This is normal.
