PREFERENCES

The appliance can be adapted to your requirements via several individual settings.
For this, the settings menu ("MENU") is provided.

DISPLAYING THE SETTINGS MENU AND SELECTING THE VALUES

1. Ensure that the appliance is in standby mode. If required, cancel any running
program (see: 'Operation / Cancelling Operation').
2. Keep both selection buttons (+ and –) pressed for approx. 2 seconds. The selec-
tion menu is displayed.
3. For scrolling through the menu, shortly press a selection button.
4. With the desired parameter shown on the display, press the FAV./CUS. button.
The achievable values are shown (see the following table).

5. Shortly press a selection button (+ or –) for selecting the desired value. The cur-
rently selected value is shown on the display or indicated via an arrow.
6. Press the FAV./CUS. button for confirming the selected value and returning to
the settings menu. Thereafter, you can adjust the next parameter or exit the set-
tings menu.
7. To exit the settings menu and return to standby mode, keep both selection but-
tons (+ and –) pressed for approx. 2 seconds. Alternatively, simply wait for
approx. 20 seconds without pressing any button.

(„ESPANOL").

hours format (12H) any time from midnight ("12:00") to 11:59

11:59 (at night) the label "PM" is shown.

SELECTING THE LANGUAGE

When the appliance has been delivered with the original settings, the language
of the display is English. Immediately after selecting another language, the display
switches to the new language.
1. Keep both selection buttons (+ and –) pressed for approx. 2 seconds for entering
the settings menu.. The first parameter "LANGUAGE" is shown on the display.
2. Press the FAV./CUS. button for selecting this parameter and displaying the first
possible value.
3. Repeatedly press a selection button until the desired language is shown.
4. Press the FAV./CUS. button for confirming your selection and returning to the
settings menu. The current menu item is shown in the selected language.
5. To exit the settings menu, keep both selection buttons (+ and –) pressed for
approx. 2 seconds. Alternatively, simply wait for approx. 20 seconds without
pressing any button. The appliance goes back to the standby mode.

OPERATION

WARNING
– Always ensure that the appliance and all its parts and acces-
sories are out of reach of young children and animals. Do not expose the kettle
to extreme temperature variations (e.g. by pouring cold water onto the glass
body of the hot kettle). The kettle could break, crack, or get chipped, when
handled carelessly. Even small splinters and shards could cause severe injuries
when getting into your food and beverages. Thus, always handle glass parts with
special care to avoid injuries and damage. Do not use any glass parts any longer,
when these parts are broken, cracked, or chipped in any way.
If water runs out during operation, immediately unplug the appliance (see: 'Solving
Problems').
Hot water and steam could cause severe scalds. Always keep the kettle level, and
ensure that the kettle will not fall or fall over. During operation and some time there-
after, even the exterior of the kettle, the lid set, and filter system may get hot; only
touch these parts by the handles. When removing the lid or filter system, and/or
during pouring, and even with the lid closed correctly, hot steam and condensate
could escape. If required, protect you hands.
Always remove the kettle from the base for removing the filter system or lid. Do not
obstruct the movements of the cantilever. Do not move the cantilever manually. The
appliance is suited for partly unattended operation. However, do not leave the
