PROPERTIES OF YOUR NEW TEA MAKER

The DESIGN TEA MAKER ADVANCED PLUS is intended for heating drinking water
to a selectable temperature in the range from 50°C to the boiling temperature
(100°C). The motor driven cantilever can immerse the provided tea infuser automa-
tically into the water and lift it out after the selected steeping time ran through. Duri-
ng the steeping time, a constant temperature is kept within the kettle. Additionally,
via the keep warm function, the selected temperature can be maintained for a pre-
selected keep warm time (see: 'Keep Warm Function').
The lid ring is designed for keeping the kettle closed securely, holding the filter
system or plain lid stably, even during pouring. When the filter system is not in
use, close the kettle via the lid.
During operation, various acoustic signals are given. The display indicates the
actual water temperature and the currently running program (see: 'Display and
Acoustic Signals').
During operation, you cannot enter any changes. However, you can make the
set values flash on the display for approx. 5 seconds via pressing the TEMP/
TIME button. If you wish to make new entries, you need to cancel operation of
any running program and start a new run.
An additional program for hot water („WATER") can be used via pressing the
WATER button after setting the desired temperature (see: 'Recommended Usage
of the Programs'). For this, the complete temperature range of the appliance is
available.
Optimum steeping temperature values and steeping time settings for several
types of tea are programmed in 5 pre-defined tea programs (see: 'Recommen-
ded Usage of the Programs'). Additional space in memory is offered for 4 user-
defined programs.
Via the advanced motor drive, the provided filter system can be lowered into
the water and lifted out automatically (see: 'Automatic Extraction'). For this, the
infuser cover of the filter system is assembled completely with magnet holder
and pusher. Due to the design of the magnet holder the kettle is closed perfectly
during steeping, keeping the flavours inside.
After steeping or when reaching the correct water temperature, the appliance
starts the keep warm function automatically (see: 'Keep Warm Function'). You
can disable the keep warm function or adjust the maximum keep warm time
(see: 'Special Settings').
Any operation may be cancelled at any time via pressing the illuminated start/
stop button TEA (when a pre-defined program or user-defined program is run-
ning) or WATER (when water is heated). You used this button for starting the
currently running program (see: 'Operation / Cancelling Operation').

Via the glass body of the kettle you can easily monitor the steeping process of
your tea and check for the colour at a glance without opening the lid.
Operation may be started automatically at a pre-set starting time via the integra-
ted timer (see: 'The Auto Start Function').

SPECIAL SETTINGS

You can enter some own preferred pre-settings that will be kept in memory even after
switching off and unplugging the appliance:: the language used on the display, the
maximum keep warm time, the volume of the acoustic signals (high, low, or off), the
used temperature unit (°C or °F), and the time format (12 hours or 24 hours; see:
'Preferences').
NOTE
We recommend to set the language of the display according to your requirements
for avoiding errors and misunderstanding (see: 'Preferences / Selecting the Lan-
guage').
If required, all individual settings can be deleted from memory, by resetting the appli-
ance to the factory settings (see: 'Special Functions / Restoring the Factory Settings').
However, the language of the display will be kept.
Additionally, for storage the cantilever can be driven to a park position.
DISPLAY AND ACOUSTIC SIGNALS—THE COURSE OF A PROGRAM
When connecting the appliance to the power supply, a signal sounds and the
appliance performs an initialisation. Thereafter, the display illuminates, showing
the data of the default tea program ("GREEN").
IMPORTANT - Possibly, the cantilever moves during initialisation.
On the upper line of the display the following small icons can be shown: clock
icon (left half of the display; indicating the internal clock of the appliance; only
seen, when the time values of the timer are displayed), "AM" or "PM" (morning
or afternoon, when the 12 hours format is selected), alarm clock icon (right half
of the display; shown above the starting time (only seen, when the auto start
function is activated; see: 'The Auto Start Function').
On the second line of the display the currently selected water temperature (°C,
"BREW TEMP") and the steeping time (minutes:seconds; "BREW TIME") are
given. While a program is running, the steeping time is displayed as a count-
down. With the keep warm function running, the already elapsed keep warm
