WARNING
When the battery is not connected to the mains
via the battery charger, the battery charge
decreases even if the machine is not being used.
If the batteries were to be drained significantly,
they could be severely damaged to the point of
being unusable. The warranty does not cover
damage resulting from a battery that has not
been charged regularly.
WARNING
Charging must only take place via the charging
socket (fig. 16.B) using the battery charger
(fig. 16.D) supplied or another type indicated
in the "Technical Data" table. Other recharging
systems can irreversibly damage the battery.
WARNING
The battery must be recharged in an environment
protected from the weather, in the shade, at a
temperature ranging between +5 and + 35 °C.
NOTE
The battery can be recharged at any time, even
partially, with no risk of damaging it.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Do not perform any maintenance or cleaning
while recharging the batteries.
To recharge the battery:
• Bring the machine close to an earthed power
outlet (so as to avoid the use of extensions)
and remove the key;
• Open the rear hatch (fig. 16.A);
• Connect the battery charger (fig. 16.D)
provided to the charge socket (fig. 16.B) using
the proper bayonet connector (fig. 16.C);
• Connect the battery charger to the mains
socket, by inserting the respective plug (fig. 17).
In certain commercial areas only:
To charge the battery, a socket with a safety
circuit breaker (fig. 18.A) is supplied, if
required, to which the charging cable must be
connected (fig. 16.D).
The socket with a safety circuit breaker must
be connected to the mains socket and a
performance test must be carried out:
1. Press the "RESET" push-button (fig. 18.B)
to activate functioning. The warning light
must be "ON" (fig. 18.C).
2. Press the "TEST" push-button (fig. 18.D) to
perform the performance test. The warning
light must be "OFF" (fig. 18.C).
DANGER
If the performance test ends with a negative
result, the safety circuit breaker socket is
not required and should not be used. If the
performance test is successful, it can be used
and it is possible to proceed with the charging
phase.
Full charging takes about 2-8.5 hours (depending
on the battery and the charger), during which the
warning LEDs (fig. 9.F) flash progressively. When
every single charge threshold is reached, the
respective LED remains on permanently, while
the others continue to flash.
The battery can be kept under charge indefinitely.
