Correction of Malfunctions

Problem
The pneumatic tool is ready for operation, but no staples
(GTK 40) or brads (GSK 50) are discharged.
The staples (GTK 40) or brads (GSK 50) are discharged very
slowly and with too little pressure.
The staples (GTK 40) or brads (GSK 50) are driven in too
deep.
The staples (GTK 40) or brads (GSK 50) are not driven in
deep enough.
The pneumatic tool skips staples (GTK 40) or brads (GSK 50)
or has a too large cycle feed.
The staples (GTK 40) or brads (GSK 50) frequently jam in the
shot duct.
The driven staples (GTK 40) or brads (GSK 50) are bent.
Contrary to working with normal operating speed, the staples
(GTK 40) or brads (GSK 50) are not driven in deep enough
enough at higher operating speeds.

Bosch Power Tools
Cause
A staple (GTK 40) or a brad (GSK 50) has become jammed in
the shot duct.
The magazine slider is 11 defective.
The spring of the magazine slider is too week or defective.
The fasteners being used are not permitted.
The magazine 8 is empty.
The rated pressure of the compressed-air supply is too low.
The driver blade is damaged.
The sealing ring of the piston is worn or damaged.
The buffer is worn.
The length and diameter of supply-air hose 17 do not corre-
spond with the data of this pneumatic tool.
The supply-air hose 17 is bent/creased.
The rated pressure of the compressed-air supply is too high. – Reduce the compressed-air supply. 5 bar may not be

The buffer is worn.
The rated pressure of the compressed-air supply is too low.
The depth stop is set too high.
The length and diameter of supply-air hose 17 do not corre-

Corrective Measure
– Clear the jam.

– Clean and lubricate the magazine slider 11 as required
and make sure that the magazine 8 is not dirty/soiled.
– Contact an authorised service agent for Bosch power
tools.
Have the component replaced there.
– Use only original accessories.
Only the fasteners (nails, staples, etc.) specified in ta-
ble "Technical Data" may be used.
– Refill the magazine.
