5. Typical applications
5.1. EoC in a SAT IF distribution structure
IP data is routed to an EOC 30-01 or EOC 30-21 via Ethernet using a router. The EOC modulates the IP data
and typically feeds it into the terrestrial port of a multiswitch.
•
If the EoC signals are fed into the terrestrial range of a multi-switch, then this input must be passive.
•
Furthermore, in order to use the full data rate of the EoC system, the terrestrial input must support the
frequency range from 5 to 204 MHz. In a multiswitch cascade system, the conditions apply to the entire
terrestrial branch.
The data can be received via the subscriber outputs of the multiswitch and the antenna sockets connected to it
at the EoC endpoints.
5.2. EoC in a CATV distribution network
The devices may only be used in a CATV network if the forward path frequency range of the CATV
network starts from 258 MHz or the return path range used by the EOC devices is limited to 5 ...
65 MHz.
Configure a notch filter for all devices and install a TZU 198-64 low-pass filter on the EoC+RF port of the
master and on all G.hn ports of the endpoints. This results in a reduced data rate.
