2.3. Principle of operation

The EOC 30-01 master and the EOC 30-21 Dual master use the G.hn standard to build an Ethernet-over-coax
network with the EOC 30-0x endpoints via the coaxial cables of the house installation. The EOC master is
connected to the internet modem of the telephone or cable operator.

16 endpoints (EOC 30-02 and/or EOC 30-03) can be connected to the EOC 30-01.
•
32 endpoints (EOC 30-02 and/or EOC 30-03) can be connected to the EOC 30-21.
•
The EOC devices use the frequency range of 5...204 MHz ex works. All components in the coaxial cable
network should be suitable for return path in this frequency range to enable the full data rate.
•
If the return path range in an installation is only 5 ... 65 MHz, then the return path range used by the EOC
devices can be limited to 5 ... 65 MHz (Configure a notch filter for all devices and install a TZU 198-64
low-pass filter on the EoC+RF port of the master and on all G.hn ports of the endpoints). This results in a
reduced data rate.

The EOC 30-01, EOC 30-21, EOC 30-02 and EOC 30-03 cannot be connected to other AXING EOC devices
or to third-party products.
