Mail Set Thickness Detection
The mail set thickness detection controls the thickness of the mail set. In this way the
system checks if the envelope will be filled with the correct amount of documents. If the
mail set thickness detection is switched on the system will stop if a mail set is too thick or
too thin. An error message will be displayed subsequently.
The mail set thickness detection can be set to "on" in the
settings menu
on page 30. In this menu you can also set "Continue on double" to "on".
This means that the system continues processing mail sets when a too thick or too thin
mail set (suspected set) has been detected. This suspected set will be diverted onto the
intelliDeck.
The thickness of mail sets can vary, for example when a small card is used that can shift
in place. With the measurement area offset it is possible to shift the measurement area to
a stable section of the mail set.
Job wizard
The job wizard is a setup assistant that will assist you, via a series of defined steps, to
create a new job.
The first step in the wizard is a choice whether you want to create an
page 21or a
Manual job
Double Feed Control (DFC)
The feeders of the system have a Double Feed Control (DFC) which is the sensor that
detects if more documents are fed instead of one.
Currently DFCs on document systems perform relative measurements, which means that
they need a cycle to 'learn' the thickness of a sheet. Also the length of the document is
measured so partly overlapping sheets will be detected.
on page 23.
When Daily mail is selected, the DFC will be switched off
automatically for the upper (Daily mail) feeder.
