1. & 2. Compliance with intended use and the general safety instructions
Please always comply with intended use and the general safety instructions.
This bicycle is designed and equipped as a children's vehicle.
3. The spokes must have uniform tension at all times
In the event of the bike going out of true with a so-called 'sidestroke' or 'figure eight', the wheel can usually be re-centred by changing
the spoke tension with the help of a spoke spanner. Concentricity can be restored by loosening or tightening the spoke nipples
(always only by a quarter turn to test the effect) . This also applies to radial run-out.
This work requires experience and practice.
To avoid further damage, please have this work performed by a specialist.
For small running wheels and low speeds, handling is generally not impacted by a minute imbalance.
4. Valves, consistency and air pressure of the tyres
To ensure safe road handling and long service life of the tyres, the air pressure
must correspond to the technical specifications (see above).
Dust caps protect the valves from dirt. After unscrewing the caps, the tubes can be
inflated directly using a suitable (bicycle) air pump.
If too much air is pumped into the tyres, they can burst and
injure you. Therefore, when you use pressurised air devices please pay
attention to the pressure indicator and use only short bursts to pump in air.
To release some pressure, loosen the union nut on the valves.
5. Secure fit of the cranks on the bottom bracket spindle
The pedal arms (cranks) are attached to the conical square section shafts of the
bottom bracket bearings. During inspection, the crank screws used to press the
cranks to the bottom bracket axle must be tightened. To do this, first remove the
dust cap.
The tightening torque for the cranks must be a minimum of 30 Nm. This connection
must be checked at regular intervals for zero play (no backlash). Following the
first inspection (prior to riding the bicycle for the first time), a repeat inspection
must take place latest after approx. 40 km.
The bottom bracket bearing is always adjusted ex works.
However, you should have the bottom bracket bearing inspected by a
specialist every 150 to 250 km.
