You should only ever turn up the steam power control slowly! If you turn up the
steam power control too abruptly, steam will shoot out of the steam nozzle into
the liquid, which will cause this to shoot up out of the container in an uncontrolled
fashion.
13. Clean the steam nozzle immediately after use in the manner described in the "Cleaning"
chapter.
14. Move the VORHEIZEN AN/AUS (PREHEAT ON/OFF) switch to the "AUS" (OFF) posi-
tion to switch off the device.
15. Let the device cool down for a few minutes before you use it again.

Preparing Filter Coffee

1. Open the water reservoir and filter compartment cover.
2. Fill the water reservoir with the amount of water you require. Inside the water reservoir
there is a scale which tells you how many cups of water there are in the water reservoir.
3. Place the filter insert into the device. The filter insert must be inserted in such a way that
the discharge opening of the filter insert lies in the recess which is provided for it in the
filter compartment.
4. Insert the permanent filter.
5. Pour coffee powder into the permanent filter. Use the measuring spoon which is supplied
to do this. A level coffee spoonful is roughly equivalent to one brewed cup of coffee. You
can also use more or less coffee powder depending on how you like your coffee.
6. Close the water reservoir and filter compartment cover.
7. Place the coffee pot with the lid on it onto the hotplate under the discharge opening.
8. Move the KAFFEE AN/AUS (COFFEE ON/OFF) switch to the "AN" (ON) position. The
control lamp on the left next to the KAFFEE AN/AUS (COFFEE ON/OFF) switch starts
to light up as soon as the device has been switched on.

11. Turn the steam power control slowly anticlockwise so that
the liquid can be heated up by the hot steam.
12. After heating is complete, turn the steam power control
clockwise as far as it will go in order to switch off the steam
nozzle.
