7. Clean the espresso filter, the portafilter and the milk frother nozzle with hot water and a
little detergent if necessary.
8. Then dry the espresso filter and the portafilter thoroughly.
9. Insert the filter insert into the portafilter.
12. Open the water reservoir and filter compartment cover.
13. Fill the water reservoir with clear water.
14. Allow two to three full reservoirs of water to run through the coffee machine and through
the espresso machine (see the "Use" chapter).
15. Allow one full reservoir of water to run through the steam nozzle in order to flush the
lines.

6. Remove the portafilter by pulling it down and out.
10. Insert the portafilter (without any espresso powder) into the
device. Insert the portafilter in such a way that the handle is
opposite the open lock symbol.
11. Turn the handle towards the closed lock symbol. Make sure
that the portafilter is secured in place.
