Chapter 4. TRANSPORT AND INSTALLATION
4.1

PACKING AND SHIPMENT

After having been tested the machine is shipped completely assembled. Upon receipt make sure no damage occurred
during transportation or that no tampering is visible on the package, and that no part is missing. Packing method is to be
agreed with the customer according to the distance and to the transportation mean required.
CAUTION!
Packing, lifting, displacing, transportation and unpacking operations are to be carried out by trained
personnel only. Transportation and lifting means must be selected according to machine weight and shape
(section 2.2 Technical data)
If transportation is done by truck, the machine is moved using a manual lift truck covered with water-proof material,
secured to its pallet and then placed on the transportation plane using an engine driven lift truck.
4.2

STORAGE

In case the machine is not installed immediately and it must be stored for a long period of time, it must be stored in a
closed environment that is compliant with the protection level required by the components installed. Particularly:
!
make sure the machine support plane is strong enough and safe
!
always place wood panels or any other panel, between floor and
!
cover the machine with a plastic sheet in order to repair it from dust and humidity
WARNING!
Do not place any type of equipment on the machine. The manufacturer disclaims any responsibility for any event
occurring after the forwarding agent has delivered the machine.
4.3
INSTALLATION
CAUTION!
Assembling and installation operations must be carried out by qualified personnel only, duly authorized by
the manufacturer or by its agent.
During displacement operations no one should stand in the machine maneuvering area.
Proceed with installation operation checking that everything can be done with the utmost safety.
Make sure that the power supply of the electrical system corresponds to the machine one (section 2.2 Technical data).
Bring the machine to the installation site (for displacement and transportation see section 4.1) remove all guards and
packing used for transportation.
The machine is equipped with wheels for easy displacement during positioning operations. They are dismantled when
packing to allow machine securing on pallet.
It is therefore necessary to assemble them during installation, making sure than those provided with brakes are
assembled on the operator's side. (Figure 7).
Once the machine is correctly positioned, lock it by acting on the wheels brake (1 – Fig. 7).
Carry out electrical connection by connecting the power cord in the machine socket (1 – Fig. 8), then connect the plug to
the main circuit power socket.
Carry out belt electrical connection by connecting the plug in the socket provided on the machine (1 – Fig. 9).
4.4

ADJUSTMENTS AND PRE-USE CHECKS

The machine is supplied already equipped with the proper adjustments necessary to operate as it undergoes an in-plant
test to verify correct functioning of all parts.
However, during pre-start phase, it is necessary to carry out the following checks and adjustments:
!
check that all fixing bolts are tightly secured;
!
check guards correct positioning and anchoring;
!
adjust the collar opening (1 – Fig. 10) according to the width of the product to be wrapped, loosening the hand
wheels (2 – Fig. 10) and acting on collar movable parts (1- Fig. 10), making sure that the package is centered as
regards the longitudinal welding bar.
!
Act on screws (2 – Fig. 11) to adjust the belt conveyor (1- Fig. 11) inclination and use the holes drilled on fixing
plates.
