42 | EPS 200 | Operation
Procedure:
1. Clean CRI/CRIN (see section 5.3).
i
Do not fit the injection chamber (Fig. 21, Pos. 4)
onto the component until after the leak test.
2. Secure the CRI/CRIN using the tool holder (Fig. 2,
Pos. 7) on the EPS 200.
!
Never connect the high pressure connecting line
directly to the component.
3. Connect the high pressure connecting line
(Fig. 21, Pos. 5) to the CRI/CRIN using a connection
adapter.
i
The connection adapter must be tightened to a
torque of between 25 Nm and 30 Nm. If the con-
nection between adapter and DHK/UI is leaking, the
screw connection is not to be re-tightened. In the
event of a leak, unfasten the connection again, clean
the sealing surface and re-connect the adapter ap-
plying the correct tightening torque.
4. Connect the adapter lead to the CRI/CRIN and to
the electrical connection socket on the EPS 200
(Fig. 21, Pos. 2).
5. Connect the hose line 1 680 712 287 to the
CRI/CRIN return and to the CRI/CRIN test
connection (Fig. 21, Pos. 1; return) on the EPS 200.
i
For a CRIN or non-Bosch injector, use the accessory
kit 1 687 001 872 (optional accessory).
6. Close the protective cover.
7. Perform the test.
i
After the leak test, the injection chamber is fitted
on the component and the hose line 1 680 712 308
is connected to the test connection for CRI/CRIN
(injection) (Fig. 21, Pos. 3) and the injection chamber.
i
The CRI/CRIN test is described in the Online Help.

Topping up the test oil
If the test oil level falls below the lower marking in the
oil level display (Fig. 1, Pos. 9), the test oil needs to be
topped up.
!
If the test oil is added too quickly, it is possible that
it will run out of the upward facing flushing outlet or
the connection for the external extractor.
1. Turn the flushing outlet (Fig. 3, Pos. 5) upwards.
2. Pour the test oil (ISO 4113) into the jet chamber
(Fig. 3, Pos. 2) very slowly and carefully.
3. Add test oil until it reaches the upper marking in the
oil level display.
 The EPS 200 is ready for operation again.

Program description
i
The system software is described in the Online Help.
Press <F1> to call up the Online Help in any window.
5.7
Updating the software
!
When new EPS 200 system software / firmware is
installed, the current database is overwritten. We
therefore recommend backing up the database
before installation (see Online Help).
!
The common rail pressure calibration values are lost
on installing the product recovery CD.
The Service department is to be informed in such cases.
The software update is described in the Online Help
under "System >> Software".
5.8
Faults
i
In case of faults in the EPS 200 system software,
follow the on-screen instructions. If the fault cannot
be resolved, contact customer service.
Fault
LCD display remains dark after
turning on.
Test oil mist is not extracted
correctly during the jet pattern
test.
After clicking on the
touchscreen with the stylus,
the mouse pointer is not
shown at the same position.
Remedial measures
Check electrical connection (if
the electrical power supply is
correct, the fan on the rear of
the EPS 200 should be running
and the ring light in the injec-
tion chamber should be lit).
1. Check compressed air con-
nection (0.5 MPa − 0.8 MPa).
2. Correctly adjust the extrac-
tion controller for the inter-
nal extractor.
Perform touchscreen align-
ment (see Online Help).
