10.TROUBLE SHOOTING FOR E1X K SERIES
FAULT
Alternator does not excite
Low no-load voltage
Correct no-load voltage but too low with load
Correct no-load voltage but too high with load
Unstable voltage
Noisy Functioning
CAUSES
1) Insufficient residual voltage
2) Connection break
3) Broken fixed diode bridge
4) Broken rotating diode bridge
5) Insufficient speed
6) Windings breakdown
7) Broken compound
1) Low speed
2) Winding failure
3) Broken fixed diode bridge
4) Broken rotating diode bridge
5) Wrong setting of compound
6) Compound is broken
1) Low speed with load
2) Compound is broken
3) Defective winding rotor
4) Load too high
1) Appliances with capacitors on the load

SOLUTION
1) Excite the rotor using a battery
2) Reset the connection
3) Replace the fixed diode bridge
4) Replace rotating diode bridge
5) Adjust speed regulator of the engine
6) Check winding resistance and replace damaged parts
7) Replace compound
1) Adjust rotating speed of the engine
2) Check resistances and replace damaged parts
3) Replace fixed diode bridge
4) Replace rotating diode bridge
5) Adjust compound setting
6) Replace the compound
1) Adjust rotating speed of the engine
2) Replace compound
3) Check rotor winding resistance and replace the rotor if broken
4) Reduce the load
1) Reduce capacitive load
