A bad reception of the DCF signal can be caused by, eg well shielded rooms or
buildings or perhaps by metallized insulated glass, coated special wallpaper or
a particular construction design (reinforced concrete).
The reception is also made worse by the proximity of the base station to electric/
electronic devices (televisions, computers). The same is the case of proximity
to large metal objects (washing machines, tumble driers, fridges, steel doors).
The radio tower icon can look like this:

In chapter 12 it is described how you switch the display over from the 12 and 24
hour mode, how to select the sequence of day and month (day/month possible
and month/day) as well as the language for the abbreviation of the weekday on
the display.
During the search for a DCF signal (radio tower signal flashes) no manual setting
is possible! Wait for the correct radio reception or briefly press the " " key.
