14. Binding Function

To enable transmitter and receiver to work together, they must be bound by the
same digital code. In the delivery state, transmitter and receiver are aligned
with each other and can be used at once. The binding settings must be renewed
mainly after a replacement of the transmitter or receiver or to remove any
interferences.
To perform the binding procedure, proceed as follows:
• Switch off the receiver and transmitter.
• Place receiver and transmitter close together (no more than 1 meter distance).
• Switch on the transmitter and wait until both LED displays at the transmitter
are lit.
• Push and hold the setup button (1) at the receiver with a pointed object
(toothpick or similar).
• Switch on the receiver while pushing the setup button. When the LED in the
receiver starts flashing quickly, release the setup button of the receiver (1)
again.
• Press and hold the binding/PDM button at the transmitter (2). If the green
LED display for binding and undervoltage (3) starts flashing fast, release the
button again. The LED in the receiver goes out.
• When the green LED display for binding and undervoltage (3) remains lit
(after about 5 seconds), binding has been completed. The LED in the receiver
remains lit again and signals reception of the control signals of the transmitter.
• Then perform a function test of the system.
Attention!
After binding has been performed, the fail safe setting has to be
performed again because any possible fail safe programming is
no longer active because of the binding process.

15. Fail-Safe Setting

The Fail Safe settings permit having the servos run into a specific position if the receiver no longer receives any transmitter signal. If the transmitter fails during
a flight, the motor can be throttled automatically, for example, so that the model cannot fly away uncontrolled.
Proceed as follows to set the fail safe position of the four control channels:
• First, switch on the transmitter and then the receiver.
• Push the setup button at the receiver with a pointed object (toothpick or similar) (also see figure 15, item 1) until the LED at the receiver starts flashing slowly.
• Now you have 5 seconds to put the servos or motor controllers into the desired fail-safe position with the two servo levers and operate the setup button in the
receiver again.
• The LED in the receiver briefly flashes fast and then remains permanently lit.
Important!
To verify the fail safe setting, use the control lever to deflect the servos to the stop and then switch off the transmitter.
The receiver now has no transmitter signal (the red LED in the receiver goes out) and will let the servos run to the previously determined position
at actual fail safe programming.
