j) Mounting the aileron
The left and the right aileron are glued onto the wing with three hinges, the
same way as the elevator.
k) Mounting the aileron servos
Carefully cut out the iron-on foil in the servo shafts. Extend the servo connection cables of the two aileron servos with corresponding servo extension cables.
Observe the right cable assignment and a good insulation of the soldering spots under all circumstances! If you want to use ready-made extension cables, we
recommend securing the plug-type contacts with a strip of adhesive tape.
After extending the servo cables, you must perform a function test and set the servos to neutral position on the transmitter. Then the servo levers should be at
a 90° angle to the servo housing. If this is not the case, remove the locking screw of the rudder lever, pull off the rudder horn and reposition it.
Insert the two aileron servos on the left and right in the wing and screw them into place with matching screws. Pull the servo cable in the shafts of the wing to the
outside.
Please observe the following chapter and also illustration 13.
l) Mounting the aileron steerage
With the aileron, mount the "Z" of the linkage and a linkage connection to the
rudder horn of the aileron servo according to the same scheme as for the
elevator. The rudder horn on the aileron servo must be attached at a 90° angle
to the servo housing.
On the bottom of the ailerons, mark the rudder horn in a way that ensures
straight linkage. Carefully drill the holes for the rudder horn with a matching drill
into the aileron flap and insert this with two screws M2 x 15. On the top, mount
the counter plate of the rudder horn. Please cut off the excess length of the
attachment screws.
On the tail, set the aileron to neutral and cut off the rods for the aileron linkage
leaving an excess of 5 mm. Fix the rods into place with the screw of the rod
connection.
Connect the servo temporarily to your receiver and carry out a function test
afterwards.
Attention!
To ensure that elevator deflections are equal upwards and
downwards, the elevator arm has to be adjusted so that the row of
holes in the elevator arm is in line with the centre of rotation of the
elevator.
