18. Handling
Observe all safety tips in these operating instructions.
The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children.
Mount the smoke detector outside the reach of children. The same applies to the alarm dialler.
Avoid the following disadvantageous ambient conditions at the setup location and during operation
and transport:
- Excessive dampness or humidity
- Extreme cold (< 0°C) or heat (> 50°C), direct sunshine
- Dust or combustible gases, vapours or solvents
- Strong vibration, impact or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers.
The operation of the alarm dialler "AW50" and of the radio smoke detector "RM50" is allowed only
in closed interior spaces. The devices must not become damp or wet.
Never over-paint the smoke detector, do not stick any paper hangings/ wall papers on them. That will
disturb the smoke detector operation and prevent alarm triggering in the event of fire.
The smoke detector, by design, emits loud signal sounds. This could cause disturbance
in human hearing in certain cases.
Even animals could exhibit unusual reactions to the signal sounds.
An alarm in case of fire is however more important than these secondary effects. It is
therefore not possible to reduce the intensity of sound signals.
Never dissemble the product (except to the extent for mounting and battery replacement work
described in this instruction manual).
When setting up or mounting the alarm dialler AW50, make sure that the cables are neither bent nor
squeezed. Lay all cables in such a way that nobody can trip over them.
