13. Functioning check and operation

a) Control elements and function test

After mounting the smoke detector, a function control should be carried out.
To do this, proceed as follows:
• Press the test button (3) till an alarm is triggered (acoustically through transducer and optically by
means of the indicator light). The test is terminated on releasing the test button.
• The integration and addressing of the radio smoke detector "RM50" in combination with the alarm
dialler "AW50" is described in section 10. b) .

Normally, the alarm dialler "AW50" responds to all radio smoke detectors "RM50"
present in the radio range!
This means that if your neighbour installs the same radio smoke detector system, your
alarm dialler signals a smoke alarm even in the neighbour's house (programmed
telephone numbers are dialled).
To avoid this, the smoke detectors used by you can be registered on the alarm dialler.
Then the alarm dialler responds only to a smoke alarm in the registered smoke detectors.
