c) Recording voice message
The "AW50" alarm dialler can record two different voice messages:
• Smoke alarm
Example: "Attention! A smoke detector has triggered in the house of the Sampleman family in
Sample Street 123, 98765 Sample City! Please check immediately if there is really a fire!"
• Battery run-down warning (Batteries of the "AW50" alarm dialler has run down)
Example: "Attention! The batteries of the alarm dialler in the house of the Sampleman family have
run down. Please replace them immediately!".
To record the voice messages proceed as follows:
1. Activating programming mode
• Press "Prg" key
• Red "Mode" LED lights up, the entry level 1 is active
2. Selecting the memory location for speech recording
• Press "Voc" key
• Select the voice memory location number:
Key "1":
Text for smoke alarm
Key "4":
Text for battery run down warning (if batteries are fitted)
3. Starting/ ending speech recording
Please work out first a sensible text and write it down. Depending upon which telephone
number you have used (e.g. house administration), the message should contain the
name and address.
The maximum recording duration is 15 seconds for the smoke alarm and 15 seconds for
the battery run-down warning.
The recording is terminated automatically on completing the maximum recording
duration.
• Start recording: Press the "#" key, red "Mode" LED flashes
• Say the voice message into the microphone
• Terminate recording: Press "#" key, the red "Mode" LED is goes off (the programming mode is
terminated and the device returns to normal operation)
This completes the programming and the alarm dialler can be tested (see section
8) or it can start operation.
