5. Functional description
The set of radio smoke detection system supplied here comprises an "AW50" alarm dialler and two
"RM50" radio smoke detectors.
The radio smoke detection system can be extended to a total of 16 "RM50" radio smoke
detectors.
The alarm dialler is connected between analog telephone and telephone wall socket/ telephone line.
The analog telephone can continued to be used as usual without any restrictions.
In the event of an alarm, the smoke detector sends a radio alarm signal to the "AW50" alarm dialler,
which in turn calls up to three telephone numbers and plays a voice message selected by you.
Functions and equipment overview:
• Reception of the alarm signal from up to 16 "RM50" radio smoke detectors and output of a voice
message to up to 3 programmable telephone numbers in the telephone network
• Simple connection to an analog telephone fixed network connection is possible; the connected
telephone continues to be usable:
1. Direct connection between telephone and telephone wall socket or connection to the analog
telephone connection as main subscriber/extension via an analog telephone instrument
connected to an anlog telephone line.
2. As analog subscriber's extension through a telephone instrument connected to the ISDN
connection
• Three programmable telephone numbers (up to 22-digits incl. dialling pauses)
• Two voice messages can be recorded using internal microphone:
1. Message on smoke alarm
2. Message on "Battery run-down"- warning of the "AW50" alarm dialler
• Internal loudspeaker for checking the recorded voice messages
• Test operation possible: Alarm dialling of the saved telephone numbers is disconnected for
checking the radio path between smoke detectors and alarm dialler
• Operation and checking through a keypad with 16 keys and two status LEDs.
• Power supply to the alarm dialler with 4 AA batteries and/or power pack; for combined operation
(batteries + power pack) the batteries supply power in case of power failure (power pack is not
included in scope of supply; it can be ordered separately).
• Addressing possible (required only in case of operation of several neighbouring radio smoke
detector systems).
