10. Special Functions
a) Configuring outside line access
While operating the alarm dialler at the subscriber's extension, it could be necessary to access an
outside line by dialling a zero first. It should be borne in mind (also refer to section 6. c), that in the
event of a power failure, the telephone system mostly fails, too and outside line access is not possible.
Direct connection to the telephone network without outside line access is a more secure operation,
where possible.
Outside line access of the alarm dialler "AW50", if activated, dials a zero before the
number. Telephone systems with other outside access numbers cannot be used.
For switching outside access on or off, proceed as follows:
1. Activate programming mode
• Press "Prg" key
• Red LED "Mode" lights up, entry level 1 is active
2. Select "Outside line access" mode
• Press key "Mod" , then press key "4"
• Red LED "Mode" flashes, entry level 2 is active
• Key "1" switches the outside line access off
• Key "2" switches the outside line access on
3. Terminate "Outside line access" mode
• The programming mode is terminated automatically after 10 seconds or by pressing the "#"key
on the alarm dialler. The last setting for outside line access is saved here.
• The red LED "Mode" goes off, the programming mode is terminated and the alarm dialler returns
to the normal operation.
