8. Functioning tests
a) Checking the voice message
After recording, the voice message can of course be heard back and checked. A built-in loudspeaker
is provided for this purpose.
1. Selecting and playing back the message
• Press "Voc" key
• Select voice message (key "1" for smoke alarm or key "4" for battery run down warning)
• The saved message is played back
2. Terminating/ aborting the playback
• The playback stops automatically at the end of the voice message. The playback can be aborted
manually by pressing any key.
b) Test call
You can make a test call to check if the programming of the telephone numbers is correct and also
the proper connection with the telephone network.
Inform the called person beforehand and this is only a test call so that s/he receives the
call and listens to the voice message. On a test call, only the voice message for the smoke
alarm is played back.
1. Starting the test call
• Press "No." key
• Select the telephone memory location number (press key "1", "2" or "3" )
• The telephone number of the selected memory location is dialled; the voice message for a
smoke alarm is played back.
While the test call is being made, you cannot naturally use the connected telephone.
2. Terminate the test call
• The call ends automatically at the end of the message. The call is interrupted by pressing any
key.
