The best escape plan does not help if other family members do not know what is to be done
in case of a fire.
• Convene a family meeting to discuss the flight plan.
• Explain to each what he has to do in case of a fire or smoke alarm.
• Determine a place outside your house where you can meet after the flight. In this way you can check
easily if someone is missing.
• Familiarise all members of the family with the acoustic signal of the smoke detector.
• Carry out drill every 6 months for what is to be done in the case of smoke alarm or fire. Practise
using fire extinguishers or rescue blankets.
